Population. According to the 2019 revision of the World Population Prospects the total population was 42,729,036 in 2018, compared to only 5,158,000 in 1950. The proportion of children below the age of 15 in 2015 was 48.1 percent, 49.4 percent was between 15 and 65 years of age, while 2.5 percent was 65 years or older.


In 2019, about 46.5 percent of Uganda's total population were aged 0 to 14 years, 51.54 percent were aged 15 to 64 years and 1.96 percent were 65 years old and older
