While shedding, geckos will eat their skin in order to prevent predator

Geckos and other lizards often eat their shed skin – it's actually a sign that your gecko is healthy. They do this for a few reasons: 1. Growing that skin was a lot of hard work and there are lots of minerals stored there. By eating the skin, they can use the nutrients to grow new skin

Leopard geckos shed throughout their lives because their bodies are constantly growing. When a leopard gecko's body gets bigger, it sheds the skin because it outgrows it.

Normally a hatchlings is around 2 to 3 inches and it only weighs around 4 grams. It takes around 1 year for a Leopard gecko to reach it´s full size. However, your Leopard gecko will continue to grow till it dies, as all reptiles do. That is the reason why they shed on a regular base.

Reptile Carpet. One of the most popular substrates for its ease of use, reptile carpet is a safe and attractive substrate for leopard gecko tanks.

Enclosure/Cage The best terrariums for Leopard Geckos are those that are long and shallow. ... Unlike some other geckos, Leopard Geckos cannot climb glass very well. The terrarium should have a wire mesh lid that provides proper ventilation and allows light through
